ADVENTURES > ZOHRA`S DIARY > WEEK 14

Saturday, August 17th 2002.
Found out this afternoon that the garden is no paradise. I saw a buzzer fly by and it landed on a nearby flower. To let the others see how well I can hunt already, I caught it. Turned out to be a stinger and the bastard stung me in my paw. I haven't screamed in pain, though it took some effort. My human saw it happen and immediately began to inspect my paw. She couldn't find anything, but it wont have been easy.
I was writhing to get of her lap. After she had let me go, I made my coat neat and went inside. It took a while before my human realized that she hadn't seen me for some time. She went looking and found me on the cupboard. When she saw my paw she was shocked, I saw that well. My paw was twice as thick. She called the animal doctor who advised her to soak my paw in water and vinegar. That didn't sound like a good idea to me, though the coolness of the water was nice. It was just so wet. After she had dried my paw, I washed it myself. I then jumped back on the cupboard and I went to sleep.

Sunday, August 18th 2002.
Woke up this morning with no pain and with equal size paws. Thank goodness. Did lie down with my human to cuddle until we got up. Also my human was glad that my paw was back to normal. When the sun wasn't so hot anymore, we were allowed in the garden. I watch out for buzzers now, imagine that it's a stinger! Saw Quibus had the same tendency. If my human sees that, she calls out quickly it's a stinger and then Quibus leaves it alone and runs inside.
We have sat down chatting and exchanging experiences. We have all been stung, except for Thia. She hunts only flies, butterflies and grasshoppers and they don't sting. How she sees or hears the difference so fast, I don't know and she won't tell me, piece of crab.

Today, again we couldn't go outside. It's been raining for a few days. Fortunately it isn't cold, but it's wet and I don't like that. We'll have to wait until the sun shines again.
